Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) Manual

1. Introduction

This manual is published in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 ("PAIA"). The Act gives effect to the constitutional right of access to information held by private bodies, subject to justifiable limitations.

Subject to the provisions of PAIA, the following records may be requested:

  • Personal information held about you (subject to privacy protections)
  • Account and transaction records
  • Support ticket history
  • Clan membership records
  • Tournament and competition records
  • Moderation and disciplinary action records (where applicable)

6. Request Procedure

6.1 Form of Request

Requests must:

  • Be in writing (email acceptable)
  • Be addressed to the Information Officer
  • Specify the records requested
  • Identify the requester and provide contact details
  • Specify the form of access required

6.2 Fees

A request fee may be payable as prescribed by PAIA regulations. You will be notified of any fees before processing.

6.3 Response Time

We will respond within 30 days of receiving a valid request, or notify you if an extension is required.

7. Grounds for Refusal

Access may be refused in certain circumstances, including:

  • Protection of privacy of third parties
  • Confidential commercial information
  • Information that could cause harm if disclosed
  • Information protected by other laws

If access is refused, you will be provided with reasons and information about your right to appeal.

8. Remedies

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may:

  • Request an internal review
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
  • Apply to court for appropriate relief
